The company runs a few different types of courses and some of them are described here.
New firework training course
The company is planning to start a licensing firework training course, according to directions defined by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap, MSB). The new training course will comply with terms of reference for education established by the European Union. The working title of the new training course is Pyro License.
Basic course in pyrotechnical special effects
This course is only held once a year, normally speaking, always at the end of May. The course is a weekend course where you arrive on Friday lunch and the course continues until Sunday lunch. Accommodation is in wilderness environment close to the lake Klockesjön. The full board includes modern single or twin-bed rooms with shower and toilet.
Both the theoretical and the practial parts of the course are held in the beautiful surroundings of Ramkvilla in the northern part of the lake Örken. The course consists of about 20% theory and 80 % practice and great significance is placed on practical connection exercises and the firing of fireworks.
The course is intended for people who are responsible for pyrotechnical special effects in their own operations or who are responsible for the pyrotechnics in the theatre, production operations, events or civil and military exercises. No basic knowledge is required but we regard it as important that you are used to maintaining order in your operations and that you are careful and responsible.
The course focuses on parts such as the gaining of basic knowledge of current legislation and the objective is that the course participants will be able to complete their own permit applications and be conscious of what is required with regard to the storage of the products in question. The course orientates the participants in current safety instructions and describes the risks involved with the current handling and as far as possible minimizes or eliminates risks with regard to the handling of pyrotechnical special effects. The course is carried out with protective equipment according to regulations and the course participants are given knowledge of what is required according to the labour environment act.
The course places great importance on the correct practical handling of the products and a greater quantity of pyrotechnical articles is fired during the course. The aim is that every course participant, after the completed course, can feel personal security in the handling of electrically ignited pyrotechnical special effects.
The course also gives training in the handling of electrical detonaters and detonating fuse, these being an important part of the practice of special effects.
